Summer Star Pincushion for the

This is a free pattern from

Today was a day of sunshine and shadow so I chose ...

... uplifting blue and yellow fabrics for the front ...

... and a calm blue steel grunge for the back.

I needed to seek solace in my sewing corner
and to remind myself
that there are some things that I cannot change
but when life is broken,  I can pick up the pieces,
sew something that makes me smile,
and go forward.

May you and yours Bee Happy ...

Applique Heart @ Steph Jacobson Designs

I really enjoyed this one as it used up some small scraps,
mostly Handmade fabrics by Bonnie & Camille.

The raw edge applique heart is a scrap of an Amanda Herring fabric.
It is also puffy!
I tucked a ball of polyfil in just before I closed the applique.
This may be my favorite ...

Katniss was my Quilty Kitty Helper of the Day.
The little kitties were both napping on the quilt on my bed most of the day.

Scraps ~ Before and After from Life in the Scrapatch

This what my sewing table looked like this morning.

These are all scraps and cut-offs and left over fabric from piecing my quilt top.

There were several large pieced triangles that were cut away during the sewing

Daylily Fields Forever from Life in the Scrapatch

I am loving these blocks!

These pretty fabrics flowing through my fingers were a real pick me up tonight.

I have been sewing masks every day, including today, and it was time for something quilty.

When I was cutting, I saw that these fabrics have, indeed, been in my stash
for a very long time ... since 2007!
Both the green and periwinkle had chunks cut out of them for other projects.
The daylily fabric has never been cut though.

I am sew happy this pretty fabric is out of the deep dark stash closet
and will soon be a pretty ...
